Paralegal

Bolt Law Firm
Anoka, MN Full Time
POSTED ON 9/27/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/25/2026

Bolt Law Firm is seeking an experienced paralegal to join our personal injury and railroad litigation practice.

Our firm represents injured railroad workers and other clients in significant personal injury and wrongful death cases throughout the country. Much of our railroad practice involves claims under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA), and our cases are litigated in both state and federal courts across multiple jurisdictions.

We are looking for someone with at least 2–3 years of personal injury litigation experience who is organized, confident, and comfortable taking responsibility for cases and deadlines. Prior FELA or railroad experience would be a significant plus, but it is not required. We are much more interested in finding a strong litigation paralegal who can learn the specialized aspects of our practice.

This is a full-time, direct-hire position.

What You’ll Do

You will work directly with attorneys and clients on cases from intake through resolution and trial. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing an active caseload of personal injury and wrongful death matters
  • Filing pleadings and other documents in state and federal courts throughout the country
  • Monitoring court deadlines, scheduling orders, statutes of limitation, and other critical dates
  • Learning and applying filing and procedural requirements in different jurisdictions
  • Drafting and assisting with pleadings, discovery, correspondence, subpoenas, notices, and other litigation documents
  • Obtaining and organizing medical records, employment records, wage information, and other case materials
  • Communicating regularly with clients, medical providers, opposing counsel, courts, experts, and other parties
  • Assisting with written discovery and document production
  • Organizing deposition and expert materials
  • Preparing exhibits, medical records, timelines, and other materials for mediations, hearings, depositions, and trial
  • Assisting attorneys with trial preparation
  • Helping keep cases moving forward and identifying issues that require attorney attention
What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 2–3 years of experience in personal injury or civil litigation
  • Experience with electronic filing in state and/or federal court
  • Strong organizational and docket-management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities
  • The judgment and initiative to identify what needs to be done without waiting for step-by-step direction
  • Comfort learning the procedural rules and filing systems of unfamiliar jurisdictions
  • Strong Microsoft Word skills and general proficiency with litigation technology and case-management systems
  • The ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with injured clients and their families

Experience with FELA claims, railroad litigation, wrongful death cases, federal litigation, or multi-state litigation is particularly valuable, but not required.

About the Practice

Our railroad practice is national in scope. We represent railroad workers and their families in cases involving serious injuries, occupational claims, retaliation, and wrongful death. Because our cases arise throughout the country, the position offers exposure to a wide variety of courts, jurisdictions, experts, and complex litigation issues.

This is a good opportunity for a paralegal who enjoys litigation, wants meaningful responsibility, and is looking for something beyond processing the same type of case in the same court every day.
