Key Responsibilities
- Possesses in depth knowledge of craft specific processes and system functional testing.
- Develops, reviews, and maintains construction plans, schedules, budgets, and other essential records.
- Can read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and other technical guidance documentation.
- Ensures material and labor resources necessary to accomplish tasks are readily available.
- Maintains work schedules; works overtime as needed to minimize project delay.
- Meets with other members of production management to coordinate department effort.
- Optimizes effort to produce a high-quality work product consistent with Company standards.
- Trains and motivates workforce to result in high levels of productivity.
- Addresses daily personnel, equipment, and facility issues; develops viable solutions and remedial actions.
- Delegates work as required to maintain level workloads.
- Enforces all Company policies, procedures, work practices and safety standards.
- Tracks progress on projects to identify project issues.
- Coordinates project scope changes/contingency plans.
- Continually keeps supervisors informed of project status.
- Minimum of seven (7) years within shipbuilding or a manufacturing setting in addition to five (5) years of supervisory experience and functional testing.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of craft-specific processes and techniques.
- Well-organized manager, with directly applicable experience in resource planning and scheduling.
- Works well with other production supervisors.
- Exhibits high energy levels and maintains a good attitude.
- Able to perform labor estimates and develop associated manpower schedules.
- Familiar with standard marine practice and general specifications for construction/repair.
