Shipfitter Labor/Helper (R/O)

Job Title: Shipfitter Labor/Helper

Location: Pascagoula, MS

Position Overview: Responsible for providing support to production departments assigned to vessels and various areas within the shipyard.

Key Responsibilities

• Grind, tack, and assist fitters.
• Familiarity with basic welding and fitting processes.
• Basic working knowledge of shipbuilding operations and relevant tools.
• Work safely at heights and within confined spaces.
• Enter and navigate manholes to perform tasks in confined internal spaces.
• Provide assistance to ship fitters as needed.
• Conduct fire watch duties.
  
  

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a shipyard or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  
  

Skills & Abilities

• Capable of performing general labor tasks.
• Able to work in diverse weather conditions.
• Comfortable working at heights (above 5 feet) and in confined or enclosed spaces.
• Physically able to lift heavy objects.
• Able to wear and work with a respirator when necessary.
