Job Title: Craft Superintendent (Structural)

Location: Pascagoula, MS

Job Overview: The Structural Superintendent is responsible for supervising and leading skilled welders/fitters and supervisors in performing specialized tasks related to shipbuilding and repair. This role is key in coordinating daily activities, resource management, and ensuring the completion of welding/fitting operations to meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide and coordinate welding activities to meet project goals.
• Develop, review, and maintain construction plans, schedules, budgets, and essential documentation.
• Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical guidelines accurately.
• Ensure materials and labor are allocated efficiently.
• Oversee work schedules and adjust for overtime as required to prevent project delays.
• Liaise with other production management members to harmonize welding departmental efforts.
• Uphold high-quality standards and ensure all work aligns with company standards.
• Mentor and motivate team members to drive productivity.
• Address personnel, equipment, and facility issues promptly and implement effective solutions.
• Assign tasks effectively to maintain balanced workloads.
• Handle hiring, terminations, promotions, and transfers.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, work practices, and safety standards.
• Work in confined spaces, at elevations over five feet, and wear respiratory protection when necessary.
• Execute other tasks as directed by management.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of welding experience in shipbuilding or repair industry.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
• CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification is preferred.
