Key Responsibilities
- Guide and coordinate welding activities to meet project goals.
- Develop, review, and maintain construction plans, schedules, budgets, and essential documentation.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical guidelines accurately.
- Ensure materials and labor are allocated efficiently.
- Oversee work schedules and adjust for overtime as required to prevent project delays.
- Liaise with other production management members to harmonize welding departmental efforts.
- Uphold high-quality standards and ensure all work aligns with company standards.
- Mentor and motivate team members to drive productivity.
- Address personnel, equipment, and facility issues promptly and implement effective solutions.
- Assign tasks effectively to maintain balanced workloads.
- Handle hiring, terminations, promotions, and transfers.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, work practices, and safety standards.
- Work in confined spaces, at elevations over five feet, and wear respiratory protection when necessary.
- Execute other tasks as directed by management.
- Minimum of 7 years of welding experience in shipbuilding or repair industry.
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
- CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in specific welding techniques and processes.
- Strong organizational skills, particularly in resource planning and scheduling.
- Collaborative work style with other production supervisors.
- Demonstrates high energy, positivity, and resilience.
- Skilled in labor estimation and manpower scheduling.
- Knowledgeable in standard marine practices and general specifications for construction/repair.
