Job Title: 1st Class Carbon Steel Pipe Fitter
Location: Houma, LA
Job Summary: A 1st Class Carbon Steel Pipe Fitter performs layout, fabrication, installation, testing, and repair of pipe systems. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 6 months of carbon pipe fitting experience and the ability to successfully demonstrate proficiency in various hands-on pipe fitting tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform layout, fabrication, installation, testing, and repair of pipe systems.
- Apply a bevel using a grinder with a sanding disc.
- Cut the opposing end of the pipe to saddle a pipe of the same size at a 90-degree angle.
- Perform silver brazing of a socket joint pipe in the horizontal (flat and horizontal flow) and vertical (vertical up flow) positions per ASME requirements.
Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months of carbon pipe fitting experience.
- Ability to successfully demonstrate proficiency in the hands-on pipe fitter test, including:
- Applying a bevel using a grinder with a sanding disc.
- Cutting the opposing end of the pipe to saddle a pipe of the same size at a 90-degree angle.
- Performing silver brazing of a socket joint pipe in the horizontal (flat and horizontal flow) and vertical (vertical up flow) positions by ASME requirements.
