The Boise Co-op is seeking an exceptionally dependable Assistant Front End Manager to support our Front End operations.

Responsibilities and Duties

Assist the Front End Manager with scheduling, training, and developing staff to maintain adequate coverage and consistent performance.

Support staff accountability through fair coaching, performance evaluation, and corrective action when needed.

Collaborate with the Front End Manager and Senior Leadership Team to meet department goals for sales, labor, and margin while improving quality and efficiency.

Promote memberships, Round Up donations, and Co-op values while providing excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with state regulations on alcohol sales.

Oversee daily Front End operations, ensuring smooth transactions, compliance with cash handling procedures, and accurate register balances.

Assist with financial procedures, including balancing the safe, performing register drops and loans, and preparing nightly deposits.

Ensure cleanliness and organization of the Front End, foyer, cart areas, eating areas, and restrooms to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

Prepare and communicate daily huddle information, assign registers and tasks, and ensure team readiness for each shift.

Monitor self-checkout stations, assist customers as needed, and address concerns professionally and efficiently.

Enter accurate information (SKU, quantity, weight) into the POS system to capture correct inventory and sales data.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

4 years of retail experience, preferably in a grocery or customer service–focused environment.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Physical Demands
This position requires sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a grocery store setting, including standing or sitting for prolonged periods, occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Repetitive hand and arm movements, use of step stools or ladders, and proper PPE when using appliances and equipment are required.
