Responsibilities
Coordinate the inbound and/or outbound delivery of products and orders to customers via outsourced carriers and company truck drivers. Record all yard outbound and inbound numbers and set and track appointments. Assist Crew Leads and coordinate the yard’s workload of all freight needs to include will-call customers and non-scheduled deliveries. Track and log railyard shipments and ensure minimal overstay charges by establishing a separate CSX account.
Utilize Agility and RFN system (adjust sales orders, transfer and backhaul loads, etc.) and manage all required document transactions. Meet customer service requirements and monitor department productivity and location goals. Develop efficient delivery schedules effectively utilizing trucks and/or use of contract drivers.
Receive, ship, and manage all other postal-type deliveries. Constantly improve on the yard efficiency through management of existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and/or creating new innovative and effective systems. Maintain inventory of all deliveries, safety equipment, and warehouse supplies and order as needed. Assist Operations Manager with inventorying and ordering warehouse supplies and pallets. Be proficient and able to learn new technology for the purpose of troubleshooting and training of drivers and material handlers. Assist Freight Specialist with truck/trailer maintenance and scheduling and trailer DOT certifications as necessary.
Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. As needed, deliver safety topics and ensure all personnel (associates & any visitor) adhere to safety rules. Interact and communicate with all associates and customers in a professional manner.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: HS Diploma, GED or three (3) years equivalent work experience. Working conditions are both outside and in an office environment with minimal physical exertion, and frequent periods of sitting
Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual preferred (English/ Spanish). Ability to perform multitask assignments within a fast-paced work environment. Effective communication skills required. Requires proficiency in utilizing computer software applications necessary for performing job responsibilities.
