About The Role
Bohler’s Charlotte, NC office is seeking a Crew Chief to lead all phases of field surveying. In this role, you’ll coordinate field operations, manage data collection, and ensure the accuracy and quality of every survey. You’ll collaborate closely with project teams and clients to deliver results that drive development forward, from concept to construction.
What You’ll Do
- Lead a survey crew and manage all aspects of field work, including boundary, topographic, construction layout, and as-built surveys
- Utilize robotic Trimble total stations and GPS with Trimble Data Collectors to complete precise measurements
- Perform field calculations and sketching; download and compile field data, checking for completeness and accuracy
- Manage quality control for all survey documents, including field notes, sketches, and plans
- Maintain and perform minor preventative maintenance on field equipment and vehicles
- Oversee corporate credit card, mileage reimbursements, and related reporting
- Perform surveys independently or with a crew to meet project deadlines
- Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and standards

- High School Diploma or GED and/or equivalent experience; college coursework in surveying, math, or related field preferred
- 3 years of field experience using robotic total stations and data collectors
- Experience with Trimble equipment and software preferred
- Strong math, computer, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varied terrain and weather conditions
- Physical ability to lift at least 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
- Willingness to travel, work overtime, and stay overnight as needed
- Self-motivated with strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
