SUMMARY
The Mountain Coaster Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe, enjoyable, and efficient operation of the Mountain Coaster at Bogus Basin. This role requires clear and professional communication with both guests and staff to maintain high operational standards. The Supervisor trains, coaches, and supports Mountain Coaster Operators, fostering a team committed to safety, efficiency, and excellent customer service.
Reporting to the Summer Activities Manager, the Supervisor addresses issues related to sleds, track maintenance, operations, and staffing. The Supervisor also serves as a liaison between departments, including lift maintenance and authorized vendors, to coordinate maintenance and operational needs. Additionally, the Supervisor assists managers in scheduling and staffing to maintain proper coverage, uphold company policies, and ensure consistent adherence to customer service standards.

Essential Functions of the Job
- Works in the proper operation on the mountain coaster.
- Notifies manager of supplies needed for the efficient function of the coaster and staff. notifies manager of non-mechanical parts needed for coaster track and all sled components. Advises the manager of any condition or occurrence that may adversely affect the safety of the operation.
- Aids manager in daily operations of the mountain coaster.
- Maintains training documents and manuals; implements operational safety training protocol of seasonal staff.
- Conducts daily, weekly, monthly and semi-annual safety inspections on and maintains condition of the coaster and its non-mechanical components; including, but not limited to the track, sleds, tubing lanes trampoline bungee, rock wall, and buildings.
- Assists manager in reviewing applications, conducting interviews and hiring of seasonal staff.
- Schedules seasonal staff, according to activities budget; Makes labor adjustments to accommodate variable business levels.
- Delegates daily work assignments appropriately.
- Acts as summer activities liaison to other resort departments by communicating with department heads and coordinating area wide programs; maintains a professional attitude toward all staff, supervisors, and other departments.
- Advises and assists guests using the summer activities; Maintains orderly passenger traffic within the operations of summer activities to ensure great customer service.
- Assists in mountain coaster rescue and evacuation efforts.
- Stays organized and detail oriented, utilizing checklists and other systems to ensure no task goes undone.
- Makes sound decisions in the event of unforeseen changes to standard protocol and procedures; prepares for the unexpected.
Requirements
- Performs tasks of subordinates, as needed.
- Advocates on behalf of staff to management.
- Assists in mountain emergency situations.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Promotes safety by following safe practices and reporting any unsafe conditions or situations, while on the premises.
- Ability to make sound decisions under stressful situations.
- Demonstrated ability to perform multiple tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain a professional attitude toward guests and staff.
- 1 year supervisory experience preferred
- Valid, current unrestricted Driver’s License required
- Post high school education preferred
- Ability to perform essential duties efficiently and accurately, with or without supervision and without injury to incumbent or others.
- Must pass background check
Working Conditions and Schedule
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to work in high, precarious places and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
Schedule
Schedule will be full time, adjusted for seasonal operations and maintenance.
