Vice President of Project Management
**Position Overview**
The Vice President of Project Management is responsible for the company's overall project management framework and the execution of strategic initiatives. This role oversees key cross-departmental and cross-regional business projects, ensuring the efficient realization of the company's strategic objectives. Reporting directly to the CEO or COO, this executive serves as a core member of the senior leadership team, tasked with translating strategic vision into actionable, deliverable, and measurable business outcomes.
**Core Responsibilities**
**Strategy and Portfolio Management**
Responsible for company-wide strategic projects and portfolio management, ensuring that all projects align with the company's long-term strategic vision. Develops strategies for project prioritization and resource allocation, continuously evaluates project ROI and business impact, and optimizes the overall project investment structure.
**PMO System Development**
Establishes and optimizes the enterprise-level Project Management Office (PMO), instituting a unified project management methodology and standardized processes—including Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid models. Drives the standardization, systematization, and digitalization of project management processes to enhance overall execution efficiency and transparency.
**Cross-Departmental and Cross-Regional Collaboration**
Coordinates resources across various departments—including Product, Design, Engineering, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales—to ensure the efficient and collaborative execution of complex projects. Resolves resource conflicts, priority clashes, and execution bottlenecks between teams to ensure the smooth advancement of critical projects.
**Project Execution and Delivery Management**
Assumes full responsibility for the execution and delivery of major projects, ensuring that objectives regarding scope, schedule, cost, and quality are met. Continuously monitors project progress and key metrics (KPIs/OKRs), making timely adjustments to execution strategies to guarantee successful outcomes.
**Budget and Resource Management**
Oversees the allocation of budgets and resources across multiple projects, including human capital, supply chain assets, and external partnership resources. Optimizes cost structures, enhances resource utilization efficiency, and continuously improves the return on investment (ROI).
**Risk and Issue Management**
Identifies critical risks during the project execution lifecycle—including schedule delays, cost overruns, supply chain disruptions, and quality issues. Establishes risk early-warning systems and contingency mechanisms to ensure that issues are addressed and resolved rapidly.
**Executive Reporting and Decision Support**
Provides the CEO and senior leadership team with reports on project progress, risk analyses, and performance data to inform strategic decision-making. Leverages data-driven insights to support adjustments to the company's overall business direction and the optimization of resource allocation.
**Team Leadership and Organizational Development**
Leads the project management team—comprising Project Managers and PMO members—establishing clear performance management frameworks and talent development pathways. **Educational Background**
Bachelor's degree or higher; an MBA is preferred. A background in Engineering, Management, Business, or a related field is highly desirable.
**Work Experience**
10 to 20 years of experience in project management or the delivery of complex projects, including at least 5 years of experience at the senior management or VP level. Experience managing within multinational corporations or organizations with complex structural frameworks is preferred.
