Vice President Information Technology
Location: Tennessee
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) / President
Compensation Total Package: Circa $300k (Breakdown Circa $200 Base (Negotiable) Bonus Profit Share ~30% Benefits)
Role Summary
The VP of IT is a critical executive role responsible for shaping the organization’s technology vision and ensuring that all technology initiatives directly align with business objectives. This is a working manager role, requiring a balance of high-level strategic planning and hands-on tactical execution. It is essential you have strong ERP expertise, specifically experience of Infor.
You will lead a team of ~10 IT professionals (E-commerce, Developers, Network Admins, Help Desk, ERP Specialists) in a mid-sized, multi-location distribution environment. Your mandate is to keep mission-critical systems stable and secure while driving innovation, automation, and efficiency. You will serve as the bridge between the IT department and business functions (Sales, Finance, Warehouse), ensuring technology enhances profitability and scalability without the luxury of unlimited resources or standby project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive innovation, productivity, and growth by implementing automation of high-volume, human-based processes.
- Identify, evaluate, and champion new technologies (software, infrastructure, hardware) that address prioritized business needs.
- Manage the full project lifecycle from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Ensure 100% availability of effective, easy-to-use systems that enhance long-term profitability.
- Consolidate servers, subscriptions, and software platforms to maintain single systems-of-record and streamline approval task management.
- Maintain ongoing system penetration risk analysis and version currency for ERP (Infor CloudSuite Distribution), WMS, and ancillary platforms.
- Develop and maintain commercially viable business continuity policies and procedures with ISO-compliant documentation, including periodic plan exercises.
- Oversee cybersecurity protocols and risk management to protect the organization’s digital assets.
- Manage data and access governance policies to enable compliance with government regulations, trading partner requirements, and financial institutions.
- Maintain high sense of urgency regarding system uptime, security, and risk mitigation.
- Manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and efficient use of resources.
- Understand general ledger accounting in a distribution environment to inform technology investments and cost allocation.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of IT management experience in a multi-location environment
- Experience of Infor is ESSENTIAL
- Significant experience with supply chain ERP and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Significant development and integration experience with APIs, BODs, web services, etc.
- Experience with Infor CloudSuite Distribution (CSD) and understanding of how it interfaces with other applications.
- Experience building an IT department “from the ground up” (both applications and people).
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of on-premise vs. cloud-based data processing advantages/disadvantages (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Cybersecurity, risk management, and network architecture.
