SUMMARY:
The Senior HR Generalist plays an integral part in the plant management team by supporting the growth and performance of the manufacturing plant. This role carries out policies relating to all phases of Human Resources activity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Supports the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department.
- Assists with planning the strategic short and long-range training needs for all team members.
- Recruits, participates in interviews, and has input to the selection of employees to fill vacant positions.
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation, emphasizing company goals.
- Keeps record of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
- Assists in the investigation of work-related accidents and supports the preparation of reports for the insurance carrier.
- Conducts wage surveys within the labor market to determine competitive wage rates.
- Assists in the preparation of the budget of Human Resource operations.
- Prepares employee separation notices, related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
- Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
- Represents the organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.
- Writes grants requesting financial assistance for pre-employment and post-employment training.
- Keeps records of hired employee characteristics for governmental reporting purposes.
- Handles public relations.
- Engages in cross-functional teamwork with other departmental managers.
- Advises plant management in strategic decisions.
- Mentors, coaches, and supports the plant leadership team on HR matters.
- Responsible for ensuring that HR activities and documentation comply with ISO and IATF standards.
- Responsible for ensuring that HR activities and documentation comply with the company's business plan.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the human resources department.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems within the human resource department.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) or more years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing setting.
A four (4) year degree or commensurate experience.
PHR or SHRM certification is highly desirable
