Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and surface cleaning to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Apply primer, paint, and clear coats using conventional spray guns and airless paint spraying equipment with precision and attention to detail
- Use hand tools, grinders, power tools, and buffing machines to sand, polish, and restore vehicle surfaces to a flawless finish
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel alignment, and minor welding to restore structural integrity before painting
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by properly masking surfaces and adhering to surface preparation standards
- Operate auto glass removal and installation tools when necessary for vehicle restoration projects
- Follow safety protocols including the use of respiratory protection and proper handling of paints and chemicals to ensure a safe working environment
Skills
- Proven dealership experience or background in automotive body refinishing is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform auto restoration tasks effectively
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, grinders, power tools, and spray guns for painting and surface preparation
- Knowledge of automotive buffing techniques for achieving high-gloss finishes
- Experience with auto estimating, customer service interactions, and auto maintenance procedures is advantageous
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely during vehicle repairs or parts handling
- Familiarity with welding techniques and automotive surface preparation processes for seamless repairs
