Reports To: Athletic Director
Contract Term: 10-month / Part-Time
Annual Coaching Stipend: $5,000
Albizu University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Head Coach for Men’s and Women’s Cross Country / Track & Field. This role supports the development and success of our growing athletic programs under the NAIA Pathway to Membership. The Head Coach will work closely with the Athletic Director to assist with training, recruitment, event preparation, and student-athlete development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of distance running and track events, a commitment to academic and athletic excellence, and the ability to promote a positive and inclusive team culture.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and team meetings.
- Support recruiting, campus visits, and athlete evaluations.
- Help monitor academic progress and provide mentorship to student-athletes.
- Manage travel logistics, competition preparation, and team communications.
- Support event operations for home meets and athletic functions.
- Uphold compliance with institutional and NAIA policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and previous coaching or collegiate competition experience.
- Understanding of Cross Country / Track & Field training principles.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
- Positive, team-oriented leadership style with strong communication skills.
