Elite CPA / Founding Accountant — BOB

BOB is building the AI finance employee for businesses, handling accounting, bookkeeping, banking, payments, and financial operations.

We recently raised our seed round backed by Peter Thiel, Zach Perret (founder of Plaid), and other leading fintech founders and investors.

We're looking for an exceptional CPA to work in person with our team at our Miami Beach office.

Above everything else, we need someone who is an expert accountant.

What we're looking for

You must be a CPA with deep, hands-on accounting experience.

We're specifically looking for someone who has:

• An active CPA license
• Managed the books for many clients simultaneously
• Worked across multiple industries and business models
• Deep knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting from the transaction level through financial statements
• Extensive experience with QuickBooks Online
• Strong understanding of reconciliations, journal entries, chart of accounts, AP/AR, accruals, payroll, month-end close, and financial reporting
• Experience reviewing other accountants' or bookkeepers' work and catching mistakes
• The ability to look at a messy set of books, understand what's wrong, and determine how to fix it
• The judgment to handle unusual accounting situations where the answer isn't immediately obvious
• Experience communicating directly with business owners and answering their accounting questions
• The ability and willingness to work in person from our Miami Beach office

Experience at an accounting firm or outsourced accounting practice managing a large portfolio of SMB clients is highly desirable.

What you'll do

You'll become BOB's internal accounting expert.

You'll help oversee accounting work across our customers, answer difficult accounting questions, review books and financials, establish accounting standards and processes, and make sure the accounting work BOB delivers is accurate.

You'll also work with our team to make sure BOB handles accounting correctly as we continue expanding what the platform can do.

Being comfortable with AI tools is a plus, but it is not a requirement. We care far more about finding an exceptional accountant than finding someone who already understands AI.

This isn't a typical accounting job

We're a very small team building an ambitious company, and the standard here is extremely high.

We're looking for someone who is exceptionally sharp, detail-oriented, fast, resourceful, and obsessed with getting the numbers right.

You should be comfortable taking ownership, operating without layers of management, and solving problems you've never seen before.

There are a lot of talented accountants.

Very few will be the right fit for this team.

We're looking for an A-player CPA who wants to work alongside an exceptional team and help build a company from the ground up.

This is a full-time, in-person role based at our Miami Beach office.
