Responsibilities
- Assess vehicle damage thoroughly and develop effective repair plans to restore structural integrity and appearance
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and sheet metal work using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment such as MIG welding and soldering
- Fabricate custom parts or modify existing components through metal fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs
- Utilize automotive repair knowledge to troubleshoot mechanical issues related to body damage and assist with vehicle maintenance as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols during heavy lifting, welding, sanding, and other demanding tasks
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair progress and provide excellent customer service throughout the process
Skills
- Proven repair facility experience or extensive background in auto body repair is highly preferred
- Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, sheet metal work, and fabrication techniques
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic automotive repairs and vehicle maintenance
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, auto estimating software, and auto painting equipment including airless paint sprayers
- Experience with auto glass installation and auto restoration projects is a plus
- Knowledge of automotive repair standards, heavy lifting procedures, and safety regulations in a workshop environment
- Excellent attention to detail for finishing touches such as detailing and auto painting refinishing
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
- Good customer service skills with clear communication abilities to explain repairs and build trust with clients
