POSITION SUMMARY: Contribute expertise in teaching discipline to undergraduate programs of instruction while integrating a Biblical worldview. Develop professional relationships with students to mentor and advise on academic matters for career readiness. Perform service duties as needed within the School of Business and advance professional development through connections and contributions to teaching discipline. Additionally, maintain professional ties with graduates, colleagues, and community.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching undergraduate courses in specific teaching discipline of Finance, Marketing, Data Analytics, Hospitality, Human Resources, Entrepreneurship, and general management
- Curriculum and instruction development
- Ongoing participation within teaching discipline and contribution to higher education for professional development
- Community outreach and development of relationships with the local community
- Demonstrate skill and knowledge in teaching discipline
- Make continuous efforts to improve the quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods
- Plan, develop, and use a variety of teaching methods and materials that assist students in meeting course objectives and which are appropriate for students with differing educational and experiential backgrounds and learning styles
- Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course objectives and inform them of their progress in the course in a timely manner
- Keep accurate student records and submit related reports and forms within requested timelines
- Review, evaluate, and recommend student textbooks and learning materials
- Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs
- Demonstrate competence and interest in integrating the use of technology in the classroom and willingness to explore new instructional methodologies
- Establish annual objectives for professional growth in consultation with the division chair
- Keep pace with developments in the teaching discipline
- Learn and apply technologies that support student learning
- Participate in the evaluation process for self, division, and School of Business
- Participate in scheduled institutional activities including opening week events, chapel, conference days, and commencement exercises
- Participate in activities required to maintain program and institutional accreditation standards
- Review, evaluate, and revise program curricula and practices to assure compliance with professional standards, mandated guidelines of business/ industry, as well as, higher education
- Other duties may be assigned
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Master's degree with (18) graduate hours in teaching discipline is required
- Terminal degree strongly preferred
- Five years of work experience in the business administration area with emphasis in Finance, Marketing, Data Analytics, Hospitality, Human Resources, Entrepreneurship, and general management
- Two years of full-time higher education level teaching experience preferred. Possess knowledge of teaching field
- Part-time experience will be counted as half of full-time experience; for example, two (2) years of part-time experience will equal one (1) year of full-time experience Official transcript is required for employment
- Effective in oral and written communication
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills in the classroom and interpersonally with students
- Demonstrate organizational abilities in teaching and classroom management
- Possess and communicate a Biblical worldview and integrate biblical principles into subject matter
- Professional in appearance and presentation
- Exemplify a biblical role model for students and colleagues
- Committed to staying current in fields relevant to various classes taught
- Committed to personal professional development
- Participate in appropriate professional organizations
