POSITION SUMMARY: Perform maintenance & repairs of BJU vehicles and equipment
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain various makes and models of vehicles
- Diagnose & repair mechanical and electronic symptoms
- Fleet vehicle maintenance experience helpful
- Gasoline, diesel, small engine, & trailer experience preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Perform all types of equipment and vehicle maintenance including but not limited to oil changes, powertrain, drivetrain, suspension, tire, transmission, brakes, differential, and HVAC service.
- Diagnose, locate, and repair electrical, electronic and computerized vehicle systems.
- Diagnose, repair and replace braking systems, drive trains, and transmissions
- Professional in appearance and presentation
- Effective in oral and written communication

CDL (Bus & Tractor/Trailer) preferred; ASE certification helpful
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, online service manuals, online parts acquisition
OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Drive motorized vehicles
- Work around machines
- Work above floor level
- Exposed to dust, fumes, gases
- Exposed to marked changes in temperature
- Work outdoors in varying weather
- Repetitive hand movement (firm grasp)––both hands
