What are the responsibilities and job description for the BJA Elementary School Substitute Teacher (Temporary) position at Bob Jones Academy?
POSITION SUMMARY: Promote and enhance the ministry of classroom teachers during short-term subbing assignments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Vital characteristics and behaviors:
- Incarnates BJA’s mission and guiding principles
- Communicates the religious beliefs of BJA to elementary age students and student affiliates
- Answers questions concerning faith, doctrine, and creed of BJA to constituents, students, or those inquiring about BJA
- Manages classroom in an age-appropriate manner
- Communicates effectively (written and spoken word)
Promote and enhance the ministry of the classroom teacher by:
- Supporting classroom culture and expectations
- Ensuring academic continuity by following the teacher’s sub plans
- Adapting plans when appropriate
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Familiar with a Christian school environment
- Comfortable in a digital environment and able to learn new systems as needed
- Ability to implement teaching instructions
- Steady under pressure
