Boater's World Marine Centers is seeking a reliable and dedicated Boat Delivery Driver to join our team at our Bradenton, FL location. The Boat Delivery Driver will play a critical role in delivering boats to customers, performing sea trials, and providing an exceptional customer experience. This role requires an individual with strong boating knowledge, excellent driving skills, and a passion for the marine industry.
Responsibilities:
Boat Delivery and Sea Trials:
- Safely and efficiently transport boats from the dealership to customers’ locations. Ensure boats are properly secured and protected during transport.
- Conduct sea trials with customers to demonstrate boat operations, safety features, and handling.
- Provide hands-on guidance and instructions for boat care, maintenance, and operation during deliveries or sea trials.
Customer Interaction:
- Offer friendly and professional service during customer interactions, ensuring a positive delivery experience.
- Answer questions and provide detailed instructions on operating and maintaining the boat.
- Address customer concerns and ensure they are fully satisfied with their new purchase.
Boat Handling and Safety Compliance:
- Assist with unloading and positioning boats at delivery locations, ensuring boats are safely and securely placed.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including proper loading/unloading techniques, and ensure boats are transported in accordance with legal guidelines.
- Perform pre-delivery inspections to ensure boats are in excellent condition.
Route Planning and Equipment Operation:
- Plan efficient delivery routes to ensure timely and safe deliveries, proactively adjusting for potential delays or schedule changes.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment, including trailers, safely and responsibly.
- Ensure company vehicles are well-maintained and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Inventory and Maintenance:
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and report any damage or issues with boats during transit.
- Ensure all necessary delivery paperwork is completed accurately and filed appropriately.
Team Collaboration and Other Duties:
- Collaborate with other team members and departments (such as service and sales) to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery process.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the manager.
Requirements
- Proven experience in boat handling, including driving and performing sea trials.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in the marine or automotive industries.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely tow and maneuver large trailers and boats.
- Strong knowledge of boat operations, maintenance, and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical details to customers effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Schedule:
- Days Off: Sundays and one weekday.
- Mandatory Workdays: Saturdays.
- Hours: 8 AM - 5 PM EST.
