Responsibilities
- Applicants should be eager to learn, be self-motivated and have a desire to become a team leader.
- This person will perform a variety of duties designed to service, repair and maintain Boart Longyear’s Fleet of Sonic Drill Heads and support equipment.
- Must have the ability to diagnose mechanical problems in equipment and be able to perform quick turnaround to get these drill heads back in operation.
- Mechanic must be able to remain in a standing position for extended periods of time. You need to be able to lift your arms above shoulder level to install and remove broken or worn-out components.
- You must have skills in the care and use of hand and power tools and be able to manipulate these tools in areas of limited space.
- You must be able to work safely and adhere to all policies and requirements
- Perform routine maintenance of equipment
- Willing to work in adverse weather conditions
- Be willing to travel
- Must be able to work well with others and have a positive attitude
- Must be able to communicate with supervisor, driller and safety personnel
- Must have the ability to follow instructions while paying close attention to detail
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision
- Hydraulic systems experience is preferred
- Knowledge of small engine repairs is preferred
- Knowledge of duplex and triplex mud pumps is preferred
- Knowledge of failure analysis and root cause preferred
- Be able to lift 50 pounds frequently
- Pass a drug screen
- Pass a background check
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to be MSHA/OSHA certified
