Job Summary
The Newton School District is seeking an Interim Director of Preschool & Special Education to lead, manage, and supervise the district's preschool and special education programs.
Dates of Employment
- Approximate Dates: January 1, 2027 – June 30, 2027
Qualifications
- A valid Principal/Supervisor certificate issued by the State Board of Education.
- Must complete/have on file a criminal background check.
- Salary commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of the district's special education services, including the Child Study Team, Special Education, and Speech/Language functions.
- Direct all aspects of the preschool program, including planning and interacting with partner organizations providing preschool education.
- Supervise members of the Child Study Team, Special Education staff, Speech/Language staff, and Preschool staff.
- Serve as the district Homeless Student Liaison.
- Coordinate with the School Business Administrator/Board Secretary to manage relevant program budgets.
- Ensure adherence to state/federal reports, IEP implementation, and external provider protocols.
Rate of Pay
Negotiable. Based on a per diem amount. Anticipated between $550-$650/day for 100 days.
