Job Summary:
This role supports enterprise production systems with a focus on mainframe application stability, batch job monitoring, and incident resolution. The Application Support Analyst will oversee daily application health, troubleshoot issues across mainframe technologies, maintain documentation, and ensure smooth overnight processing. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and solid technical knowledge of JCL, COBOL, DB2, CICS, and related mainframe tools.
This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA and follows a hybrid schedule — at least 2 days onsite per week.

Key Responsibilities:
- Application Support: Provide end-to-end support for mainframe applications, daily jobs, and overnight batch processes.
- Incident Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly to minimize business impact.
- Monitoring & Stability: Perform routine health checks, verify job outcomes, and ensure applications run smoothly across environments.
- Documentation: Maintain support documentation, runbooks, knowledge articles, and application-level insights.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with infrastructure teams, developers, and business stakeholders during incident triage and post-incident reviews.
- Strong knowledge of mainframe technologies (JCL, COBOL, DB2, CICS)
- Experience supporting production systems, batch processing, or mainframe operations
- Experience with enterprise scheduling and debugging tools such as CA-7, Control-M, XPEDITER, File-Aid, QMF, SPUFI, or similar
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to multitask and support multiple applications simultaneously
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and collaborate effectively across teams
- Exposure to Java or Python
