We're seeking a future team member for the role of Deputy Chief of Staff to join our People Team organization. This role is located in New York, NY.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
- Meeting & Event Preparation: Partner with the Chief of Staff to prepare briefing materials, talking points, and logistics for internal and external meetings, events, and speaking engagements.
- Executive Communications Support: Draft and manage internal correspondence on behalf of the CPO and Chief of Staff, ensuring alignment with tone, messaging, and business context.
- Travel & Event Logistics: Support coordination of travel and event planning in partnership with the CPO's Executive Assistant and other team members as needed.
- Shadowing & Follow-Up: Attend select meetings with the Chief of Staff to document key takeaways, support follow-up, and gain firsthand exposure to senior-level discussions.
- Project & Initiative Coordination: Provide support on cross-functional projects driven by the CPO or Chief of Staff, including managing timelines, stakeholder alignment, and progress tracking.
- Strategic Thought Leadership & Advisory: Partner closely with the CPO and Chief of Staff to surface industry and people-strategy insights, analyze talent trends, and distill complex data into actionable recommendations-enabling the CPO to make informed, high-impact decisions at the executive level.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Strong organizational, writing, and communication skills
- Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 plus years of relevant experience
- Highly dependable and detail-oriented with a low-ego, team-first mindset
- Discreet and professional when handling sensitive information
- Proactive, curious, and motivated to learn
- Demonstrated interest in HR, strategy, operations, or executive support

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $68,000 and $150,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
