Job Summary:
We are seeking a Reconciliation Analyst to join a team responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of investment account data by reconciling internal records against custody records. This role is ideal for someone with a background in financial services, investment operations, or financial reconciliation who understands financial markets and is comfortable working with large amounts of data.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fixed income and investment products, along with advanced Excel skills. This is a hands-on role focused on identifying and resolving reconciliation breaks, analyzing discrepancies, and ensuring accounts are accurately reconciled on a daily basis.
This is 6 month contract role based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, with an expectation of 4 days onsite per week.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Reconciliation: Reconcile a complex book of investment accounts by comparing internal system data against custody records and ensuring all accounts are accurately reconciled each day.
Break Resolution: Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation breaks and discrepancies by performing root cause analysis and working with senior team members when needed.
Investment Data Analysis: Analyze financial and investment data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve the reconciliation process.
Cash Flow Review: Process and review daily cash flows to ensure transactions and account activity are accurately reflected across systems.
Client & Custodian Communication: Communicate primarily through email with clients and custodians as needed to research and resolve reconciliation issues.
Process Improvement: Participate in identifying opportunities for automation and process improvements within the reconciliation function, with guidance from more experienced team members.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior analysts and team members to learn reconciliation processes, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute to overall team goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
Financial reconciliation experience within a financial services, investment, banking, or related environment
Understanding of fixed income investments and general financial markets
Strong Excel skills, including experience with VLOOKUPs and XLOOKUPs
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and determine root causes
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage daily assignments while meeting accuracy and productivity expectations
Ability to work effectively in a structured, deadline-driven environment
Preferred Experience:
Experience reconciling foreign assets or international investment positions
Experience working with complex investment instruments, such as TBA, ILS, or ELN
Exposure to financial reporting or investment reporting
Experience working with a variety of investment accounts, clients, or asset types
Previous experience in investment operations, custody, asset servicing, or a financial services environment
