Job Summary
BNY is seeking three Project Managers to join the Client Implementation team supporting fund onboarding and client change initiatives across Alternatives and Registered Funds. This role is responsible for leading the end-to-end implementation of new funds and managing client-driven changes by coordinating cross-functional teams and ensuring all operational, regulatory, and technical requirements are met prior to launch.
This role follows a hybrid schedule with four days onsite in New York, NY; Boston or Everett, MA; Pittsburgh, PA; or Lake Mary, FL. Working hours are 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM ET. The assignment duration is 12 months with strong potential for conversion to full-time employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fund Onboarding Project Management: Lead end-to-end fund onboarding projects for alternative and registered fund clients, ensuring all operational, regulatory, and system requirements are completed prior to the target launch date.
- Client Implementation Coordination: Serve as the central point of coordination between internal teams and external clients during onboarding and client change initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal subject matter experts across operations, investor services, corporate actions, account setup, and technology teams to ensure all onboarding tasks are completed on schedule.
- Client Relationship Management: Lead client meetings, manage project communications, and ensure transparency on project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Project Planning & Tracking: Develop project plans, maintain trackers, manage action items, and ensure all onboarding tasks and dependencies are clearly documented and executed.
- Senior Leadership Reporting: Provide regular project updates to internal leadership and escalate risks, delays, or operational challenges when necessary.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with operational teams to align on account setup, strategy testing, lifecycle management, and operational readiness prior to fund launch.
- Process Execution & Documentation: Utilize project templates, checklists, and established processes to ensure consistent and efficient onboarding execution across clients and projects.
- Operational Growth Support: Support organic growth initiatives by managing onboarding projects for new clients or expanding portfolios for existing clients.
Qualifications
- 5 years of project management experience within financial services
- Strong understanding of fund administration, fund accounting, or investor services environments
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting alternative investments, private equity, or private credit funds
- Prior experience managing fund onboarding or client implementation projects
- Familiarity with project management or workflow tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, or similar platforms
- Experience working with global teams in complex financial services organizations
