About the Role
We are looking for our first Director of Brand & Creative to shape BNTO’s brand identity and lead creative across all customer touchpoints. This role is perfect for a seasoned creative leader with strong fashion/consumer experience, a finger on the pulse of culture, and a knack for building breakthrough brands. As one of our earliest senior hires, you’ll have a unique opportunity to set the tone for how BNTO shows up in the world.
Your Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Brand & Creative Leadership
- Define, evolve, and steward BNTO’s brand identity, positioning, and voice — shaping a brand that resonates with a new generation of consumers who see fashion as access, discovery, expression, and culture.
- Lead BNTO’s brand strategy — clarifying positioning and differentiation in the market, and ensuring creative expression is grounded in cultural and consumer insights.
- Identify and define core customer segments, leveraging audience insights to inform strategy, storytelling, and creative decisions.
- Develop and codify brand narrative and messaging frameworks, ensuring BNTO communicates with consistency and clarity across all channels.
- Translate BNTO’s vision into cohesive strategies across marketing, product, and customer experience, ensuring creative is consistent, resonant, and true to our fashion-tech DNA.
- Build and express a distinctive brand world — from imagery and styling to copy and tone — using both visual and narrative storytelling to connect with customers empathetically and respond to cultural moments with agility.
- Own the marketing calendar and lead creative execution across campaigns, social, content, community, and digital/IRL experiences — fusing fashion’s creative spirit with the innovation of an AI-native consumer platform.
- Conceive and direct brand moments, collaborations, and activations that extend BNTO’s influence beyond product into culture.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with Digital Product and Customer Experience teams to ensure brand storytelling is consistent and impactful across every channel and touchpoint.
- Partner with Merchandising and Ecommerce to connect product flow, new arrivals, and the merchandising calendar with brand storytelling and cultural moments — reflecting the dynamics of a multi-brand platform serving different style communities and customer needs.
- Monitor and interpret key marketing and engagement metrics, using customer behavior and product performance data to inform brand positioning, storytelling, and creative decisions.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and inspire a small but growing team across brand, social, influencer, and community.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver a seamless brand experience across merch, growth, product, and operations.
- Combine strategic vision with hands-on execution — driving high-quality creative in a fast-moving, multi-brand environment with constant new drops, bringing agility and resourcefulness to deliver outsized impact.
- Bring agility and resourcefulness to drive outsized impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Your Experience and Skills include:
- 8 years of experience in brand, creative, or marketing roles, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or director-level capacity.
- Proven track record of building and leading brand or creative direction for high-growth fashion or lifestyle consumer brands.
- Strong creative portfolio showcasing brand campaigns, fashion/editorial work, and multi-channel creative strategy.
- Fluent in modern tools and technologies — including AI — and how they can elevate brand storytelling and consumer experience.
- Deep understanding of culture, social platforms, and digital-first storytelling — especially as it connects with BNTO’s core audience of Gen Z and Millennial women.
- Ability to tailor creative to platform culture — knowing what drives virality on TikTok, engagement on Instagram, and connection across new and evolving channels.
- Experience managing designers, art directors, copywriters, and external creative partners.
- Exceptional communication skills. Able to inspire teams, align stakeholders, and collaborate effectively across diverse and multicultural groups spanning time zones and continents.
- Comfortable giving and receiving feedback as part of a creative process, helping teams course-correct and grow to new milestones.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment; hands-on and execution-driven while balancing strategic vision.
- Flexibility to travel if needed, including internationally.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive compensation, including generous stock options, in a well-funded and high growth environment. The estimated salary range for this position is $160,000 - $190,000 (USD). Final compensation, title and level will depend on relevant factors such as professional experiences, location and skill sets.
