What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production and Ordering Data Specialist position at BMW?
Production and Ordering Data Specialist will be responsible for proactively tracking US market demand and customer trends to create, advocate, manage vehicle configuration templates and dashboards for Build Optimization and maintain the CORE NEXT allocation and ordering systems accordingly. You will work with internal and external customers and IT partners to gather and translate data to suit the adequate business requirements.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Analyze BMW internal and competitive third-party data to identify key trends in every segment regarding vehicle configuration and pricing for BMW and Competitive Trends in pricing and vehicle builds.
- Identify the key trends in the data.
- Decide on suggested actions regarding price and packaging.
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate trends and to advocate suggested actions.
- Prepare and maintain vehicle configuration templates in the ConRecOrd ordering system based on internal and external data and Regional Feedback.
- Manage the data environment and data processes for the business back-end of the CORE system.
- Build Optimization Tableau Dashboards and become the owner of the Build Management Dashboards:
oPrepare the weekly dashboard to allow Regional Teams manage their dealer inventory.
oAct as the point of contact for any feedback or questions.
oSoliciting feedback from the Regional Teams.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements:
oAutomating manual processes for increased business efficiency.
oRe-Designing infrastructure for greater stability.
- Build analytics tools that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into vehicle builds, average days in inventory, incentive deviation, and other key business performance metrics.
- Manage the continuous improvement of the data by:
oWorking with IT to identify and acquire the right data feeds.
oWriting the code necessary to recommend the relevant improvements.

The pay range for this role is: $86,084.00 - $101,275.00.
The selected candidate’s education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Computer Science or a related field.
- Robust IT / Systems working foundation coupled with 3-5 years of automotive industry experience, some of it preferably in product, volume planning or production areas.
- Analytical thinking
- Strong PowerPoint skills
- Advance Excel Skills
Preferences:
- Proficiency of a programming language, ideally R or Python, and SQL preferred.
