Company Overview: We are a premier aerospace manufacturer based in Connecticut, specializing in high-precision components for the aerospace industry. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Resistance Spot Welder and Assembler to join our team and support the assembly of critical components, including combustion liners.

Position Overview: Assembler, you will play a crucial role in the assembly of combustion liners and other aerospace components. You will be responsible for assembling parts in compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards. Additionally, you will perform maintenance, calibrations, and measurements to ensure the precision and integrity of each product.

1st and 2nd Shift Opportunities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly of Combustion Liners: Assemble combustion liners by following blueprints, work instructions, and engineering specifications. Perform all necessary steps to ensure correct fit and function.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance on resistance spot welding machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and avoid downtime.
  • Calibration & Measurement: Calibrate welders and equipment to maintain precise settings and tolerances. Use precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify dimensions and quality of welded components.
  • Blueprint Reading & GD&T Application: Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions to understand part specifications, tolerances, and dimensions. Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure welding accuracy and part conformity.
  • Schedule Development: Develop and manage work schedules for welding and assembly tasks, ensuring timely and efficient completion of production goals.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of welded parts and assemblies to ensure they meet quality standards. Troubleshoot and resolve any defects or non-conformities.
  • Follow Written Instructions: Follow detailed written work instructions and procedures to perform tasks accurately and in compliance with industry standards.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Comply with all relevant regulatory standards and internal policies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical training in assembly preferred)
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T principles.
  • Experience with assembly of aerospace components (e.g., combustion liners) and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with engineers, supervisors, and team members.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or working with high-performance materials.
  • Formal training in GD&T or related technical areas.
  • Familiarity with quality control standards in the aerospace industry.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to welding equipment and potential noise.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
