Position Summary
The Operations Director will lead the launch, growth, and day-to-day execution of a new operation in Orlando, Florida. This role will be responsible for establishing operational infrastructure, building and leading field and project teams, overseeing project execution, driving customer satisfaction, and ensuring all work is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with company standards of quality and compliance.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role suited for an experienced operations leader with a strong background in electrical construction, EPC, renewable energy, energy efficiency, O&M, or related construction/service environments. The ideal candidate will be capable of scaling a new market while maintaining operational discipline, financial accountability, and a strong field execution culture.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Leadership
- Lead the startup and ongoing management of the Orlando operations.
- Develop operational processes, workflows, reporting structures, and performance standards for the Florida market.
- Oversee daily operations across electrical contracting, energy, service, and maintenance-related projects.
- Ensure alignment between field operations, project management, estimating, procurement, safety, and leadership teams.
- Build a culture of accountability, urgency, safety, quality, and customer service.
Project & Field Execution
- Oversee the successful execution of commercial, industrial, and mission-critical electrical and energy projects.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, manpower planning, subcontractor performance, procurement, and closeout activities.
- Partner with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field teams to resolve operational issues and maintain project momentum.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
- Support execution of services such as electrical systems, low/medium voltage work, PV solar, energy storage, EV charging, energy efficiency retrofits, commissioning, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and O&M services, as applicable.
Business Growth & Client Management
- Support the growth of the company’s presence in Orlando and the broader Florida market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and strategic partners.
- Identify operational opportunities for service expansion, recurring maintenance, project follow-on work, and long-term client partnerships.
- Collaborate with leadership, business development, and estimating teams on market strategy, proposals, project pursuits, and client presentations.
- Represent the company professionally in client meetings, site visits, and industry interactions.
Financial & Performance Management
- Own operational performance metrics, including profitability, productivity, utilization, safety, quality, schedule adherence, and customer satisfaction.
- Review project financials, cost reports, labor productivity, change orders, risks, and margin performance.
- Drive corrective actions when projects or teams are trending off schedule, over budget, or below performance expectations.
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, resource planning, and market growth projections.
- Ensure effective use of company systems, reporting tools, and operational dashboards.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead operations, project management, and field leadership teams.
- Establish clear expectations, accountability structures, and development plans for direct reports.
- Promote collaboration between office and field teams to improve execution and communication.
- Support workforce planning, field staffing, training, safety compliance, and leadership development.
- Foster a high-performance team environment built on trust, discipline, and results.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Champion a safety-first culture across all operations and job sites.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety standards, client requirements, quality protocols, and applicable codes.
- Partner with Safety and Quality teams to conduct audits, address incidents, implement corrective actions, and continuously improve field performance.
- Ensure environmental, ethical, and regulatory standards are maintained across all operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 10 years of progressive leadership experience in electrical construction, EPC, renewable energy, industrial services, construction operations, or related industries.
- 5 years in a senior operations leadership role managing project teams, field teams, budgets, and client relationships.
- Strong understanding of electrical contracting, construction operations, project controls, field productivity, safety, and financial performance.
- Experience launching or scaling operations in a new market is highly preferred.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, utility, healthcare, life sciences, institutional, or mission-critical environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of PV solar, battery energy storage, EV charging, low/medium voltage systems, energy efficiency, or O&M services is highly desirable.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to manage P&L, budgets, forecasts, margins, and operational KPIs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, solve complex problems, and drive results in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and client relationship skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to the Orlando, Florida area.

Salary : $150,000 - $190,000
