Job Summary

As a prep cook, you will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a fast-paced, upscale dining & banquet environment. Job Tasks/Duties 

  • Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and specifications, ensuring consistent quality and presentation.
  • Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment.
  • Coordinate with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to plan and prioritize daily tasks and production schedules.
  • Monitor food levels and replenish supplies as needed to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures, including temperature monitoring, storage, and labeling.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including equipment, storage areas, and refrigeration units.
  • Assist with the receiving and storage of food deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and inventory management.
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation regulations, including proper use of kitchen equipment and handling of hazardous materials.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations during service hours.
  • Participate in menu development and recipe testing as directed by the culinary leadership team.
  • Support special events and banquet functions by preparing and plating dishes according to event specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure accurate and timely food service.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Attending training sessions and staff meetings as required by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
  • Understands and consistently follows proper sanitation practices including those for personal hygiene.
  • Performs other appropriate tasks assigned by the Executive Chef

 

Licenses and Special Requirements

  • Food safety certification.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
  • Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Continuous repetitive motions.
  • Work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.

 

Education and/or Experience

Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations and a strong Food & Beverage background

 

Salary : $15 - $20
