Hiring: Server Hardware Replacement & VM Migration Contractor Location: Los Angeles (On-Site at LAWA Facilities)We are looking for an experienced contractor to support LAWA’s project to replace aging server hardware and assist with the migration of 400 virtual machines to new infrastructure. Role Responsibilities• Support server hardware replacement and expansion• Work with vendor implementation teams and validate activities• Perform diagnostics and post-replacement testing• Assist with VM migration and ensure compatibility• Maintain configuration documentation and project logs• Mitigate risks, ensure security compliance, and follow best practices• Provide post-implementation support and updates✅ Required Qualifications• 5 years in server hardware troubleshooting/replacement• 5 years managing hypervisor environments• Experience with VMware, Windows Server & data center infrastructure• Knowledge of rack management, cabling standards & DR practices• Ability to work independently and deliver with minimal supervision Deliverables• Successful VM migration to new hardware• Weekly status reports and issue logs• Documentation of workloads and configurations Evaluation Factors• Relevant experience & technical capability• Past performance and references• Compliance with safety and operational standards Working Conditions• Full-time, 5-day work week (LAWA holidays excluded)• Mostly on-site, limited remote flexibility
