Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and overall well-being of animals in our care. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and passionate about working with animals in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health and behavior
• Clean and maintain animal enclosures, kennels, and work areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment
• Observe animals for signs of illness, injury, or distress and report concerns promptly
• Assist with basic grooming and enrichment activities
• Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatments
• Follow all safety, handling, and organizational protocols
• Support team members with additional duties as needed

Work Schedule:

• Regular hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays
• **One weekend per month required **
• Will include some holidays
• Schedule will change after August 1 (details to be announced)

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with animals preferred (shelter, veterinary clinic, farm, or similar setting)
• Ability to handle animals safely and confidently
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as needed

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of animal behavior and basic health indicators
• Experience administering basic treatments or medications (if applicable)
