Role Summary
Bluff Creek Christian Church is seeking a passionate and dedicated Ministry Apprentice to join our team for a 24-week rotational apprenticeship program. This opportunity is designed for individuals who want to explore a calling to ministry, develop leadership skills, and grow in their relationship with Jesus while serving the local church.
The Ministry Apprentice will work closely with the pastoral staff and ministry leaders to gain hands-on experience across multiple ministry environments. Throughout the program, apprentices will rotate through different areas of church ministry while learning key leadership principles such as humility, hospitality, stewardship, mentorship, and dependence on God.
This apprenticeship provides practical ministry experience, spiritual formation, and mentorship to help participants discover their gifts and better understand how the church functions.
Program Structure
This apprenticeship runs in two, 12-week semesters, with each week highlighting a different ministry environment within the church.
Ministry experiences may include:
- Prayer ministry and church prayer gatherings
- Pastoral care and home visits
- Children’s ministry
- Communion preparation and worship service support
- Audio/Visual and production ministry
- Hospitality and greeting teams
- High school ministry (Connect)
- Café ministry and relational engagement
- Facility care and stewardship
- Small group engagement and fundamentals
- Middle school ministry (Embrace)
- Missions and outreach initiatives
Apprentices will observe ministry leaders, assist with responsibilities, and meet weekly to reflect on what they are learning through mentorship and discussion.
Qualifications
- A deep passion for the mission of the church and a desire to grow in ministry competency.
- Active involvement in a local church community.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to connect with a variety of people, including volunteers, youth, and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of staff, volunteers, and congregation members.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to manage tasks and deadlines in a work environment.
- A commitment to personal spiritual growth and development.
- A flexible, servant-hearted attitude, willing to serve in various roles within the ministry.
- Completion of a background check is required.
Education and Experience
- Previous ministry or volunteer experience is helpful but not required.
