Join our team as the right hand to our Master Electrician, supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial electrical projects. This position is ideal for a licensed Journeyman who is ready to step into a leadership-support role, bridging the gap between field work and project management. You’ll work closely with the Master Electrician to ensure projects run on time, on budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary support and liaison for the Master Electrician in daily operations.
- Coordinate scheduling, manpower, and materials for multiple active job sites.
- Assist in interpreting and reviewing electrical blueprints, specifications, and submittals.
- Communicate with clients, general contractors, and internal teams to track progress and resolve issues.
- Support procurement by preparing material take-offs and coordinating orders with suppliers.
- Monitor field work for adherence to electrical codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
- Document work progress, inspections, and any changes to scope or schedule.
- Help mentor apprentices and junior electricians under the guidance of the Master Electrician.
- Step in to perform hands-on electrical work as needed to keep projects on schedule.
Requirements
- Active Journeyman Electrician license (state-specific; must be in good standing).
- Minimum of 4–5 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
- Strong understanding of NEC, local codes, and electrical safety practices.
- Proven ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate between field and office.
- Proficiency with basic office software (Outlook, Excel, Word); familiarity with project management software is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a foreman, lead electrician, or assistant project manager role.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience preparing material lists, RFIs, and change order documentation.
- Background in scheduling and subcontractor coordination.
