More about the APP (PA) Extended Onboarding Program:
The Extended Onboarding Program is a one-year training program which includes the full spectrum of emergency medicine, including trauma, pediatrics, and critical care with on-site emergency physician back-up at all times. The successful candidate will follow an online EM course (14 online modules covering all of EM), utilizing an EM textbook, and will also attend (expenses paid) the Emergency Medicine Boot Camp Conference.
Differing from a one-year fellowship, this program is offered as the initial year of employment with the expectation the successful candidate will transition to long-term BlueWater employment as an Emergency Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (PA).
The goal of the one-year program is to provide education, experience and progressive independence that will create a strong foundation for an ongoing career in EM medicine with BlueWater Health. The initial training period will be done at CMHC’s Rumford Hospital, and then transition to become a part of the overall CMHC APP Group.

Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) is a 61-bed, not-for-profit healthcare institution providing primary and acute medical care to more than 2,000 inpatients each year. BMH providers perform more than 2,500 surgical procedures a year–a large number of which are same-day surgery. The Emergency Department includes eight private treatment rooms, an incident response room, a family consultation room, secure rooms for psychiatric/substance abuse patients, and a large, 2-bed Trauma/Cardiac Room. We care for nearly 14,000 patients each year (365 days a year, 24 hours a day). We serve people from throughout southeast Vermont, northwest Massachusetts and southwest New Hampshire.
