This position requires hands-on experience with outside plant (OSP), inside plant cable, and small cell network (SCN) construction on aerial, utility pole, and underground facilities. A strong understanding of permitting, utility coordination, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
Responsibilities include oversight of all aspects of construction—from vendor selection and subcontractor coordination to quality control and client communications. The role includes managing DAS and small cell deployments, utility coordination, fiber installations, and the overall construction process to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
MUST HAVE:
· Strong leadership skills, understands Small Cell/OSP construction processes and timelines, must be a good communicator, thrive under pressure, and have an entrepreneur-like mindset.
· Managing multiple subs/contractors & multiple project sites simultaneously
· Excellent MS Office skills required.
· Project Tracking* (MS Excel)
· Experience working with utilities through attachment and make ready processes
· [Local] Utilities coordination (power to pole)
· OSP Fiber Construction Management / New Fiber Build experience
· Aerial / Underground fiber construction in ROW
· Outdoor Small Cell / Node implementation
· Ability to interpret construction drawings and create as-builts
· Experience reporting to a Carrier (TMO is a plus)
· Understanding of NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards; OSHA 10 certification preferred
Essential Job Functions
· Manage sites during construction; bid walk, pre-con walk, in progress site visits, punch walks and construction closeout.
· Ensure Project Manager is updated daily on the status of construction and aware of any issues that will impact project cost, quality or timely completion.
· Ensure Site Tracker is Updated daily.
· Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Co./Carrier/Local construction standards, processes, and procedures.
· Ensure accurate and complete files are maintained for projects and appropriate closeout documents are distributed in a timely manner and are in accordance with corporate and customer standards.
· Ensure that all jobs are maintained in a project tracking system with complete accuracy.
· Act as safety observer and Quality Assurance representative while at the site ensuring compliance with safety program and related workmanship practices.
