Overview
The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers and guests at our client facilities. This role focuses on constant surveillance, prevention, and a professional, ready-to-respond presence on the deck. Lifeguards represent our company at every site and are expected to deliver consistent, attentive, and customer-focused service throughout the season.
Required Certifications
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification.
- Reliable transportation to and from assigned site(s).
Key Responsibilities
Surveillance & Safety
- Maintain active, attentive surveillance of the pool area and all swimmers at all times.
- Enforce all pool rules and safety policies in a fair and consistent manner.
- Identify and respond immediately to unsafe behavior or hazardous conditions.
- Stay alert and rescue-ready throughout the entire shift, including during quiet periods.
Emergency Response
- Perform water rescues, CPR, AED use, and first aid as needed in accordance with American Red Cross standards.
- Take charge of emergencies on deck and coordinate with EMS when required.
- Complete incident and accident reports promptly and accurately following any event.
Facility Upkeep
- Ensure all rescue equipment, AEDs, and first aid supplies are present, clean, and ready for use.
- Keep the deck, lifeguard stand, and surrounding areas clean and free of hazards.
Guest Service & Communication
- Greet guests in a friendly, professional manner and answer questions about the facility and rules.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests, parents, and fellow staff.
- Notify the Aquatics Supervisor of any incidents, concerns, or facility issues in a timely manner.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong swimming ability and confidence performing rescue skills in deep water.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and behavior.
- Calm and decisive in high-pressure or emergency situations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods, often outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Pay: From $19.00 per hour
