What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Block Inspector position at BluePrint Engines?
BluePrint Engines is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Quality Inspector to join our team. This role is responsible for measuring components, documenting results, reading and interpreting blueprints, and ensuring parts are properly prepared and packaged for shipment to our customers. Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and measure components using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, and other precision tools.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints and specifications to determine correct dimensions and tolerances.
- Document inspection results accurately in logs, spreadsheets, or quality record systems.
- Verify that components meet BluePrint Engines’ specifications and quality standards.
- Identify nonconforming parts and communicate issues to supervisors or Quality team members.
- Prepare, label, and package inspected parts for shipment to customers.
- Maintain a clean, organized inspection and packing area.
- Follow established procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
- Assist with continuous improvement activities to enhance inspection processes and workflow.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators) preferred; training available for the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements and documentation.
- Basic computer skills for entering inspection data.
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to stand, lift, and move materials as required in a manufacturing environment.
- Bi-lingual preferred.
Hours
- 1st shift (standard 48-hour work week, automatic overtime built into each Friday)
- Monday – Thursday 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Friday 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
- Additional overtime could include Fridays until 4:30 p.m. and/or Saturdays 6:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
