As a CNC Specialist / Programmer, you will play a key role in developing and optimizing CNC machining processes for engine blocks and related components. Working with advanced Makino A81nx horizontal machining centers and MAS-A5 cell controller software, you will ensure the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and repeatability. Responsibilities- Develop, edit, and maintain CNC programs for new and existing part numbers using Mastercam and/or Fusion software.
- Set up, configure, and validate machining processes on Makino A81nx horizontal machining centers integrated with MAS-A5 cell controller systems.
- Conduct program and process validations to ensure dimensional accuracy, quality, and process stability.
- Implement in-process inspection techniques, such as part probing and in-machine gaging, to maintain quality control.
- Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues, including dimensional deviations, chatter, tool wear, and premature breakage, to optimize quality and efficiency.
- Document machining processes, tooling lists, and best practices to promote consistency and efficiency.
- Assist in developing quality and preventative maintenance signoffs for CNC operators to reduce unplanned equipment downtime.
- Optimize tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters for cost-effective and high-performance results.
- Provide technical support and training to CNC operators and set-up personnel.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and achievement of quality and production goals.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, process standardization, and troubleshooting activities.
- Support the implementation of manufacturing improvement projects within the plant.
- Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and company policies.
- Associate degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience in CNC machining, advanced manufacturing, or manufacturing engineering.
- Proficiency in Mastercam and/or Fusion CAM programming.
- Experience with Makino horizontal machining centers and MAS-A5 cell control preferred.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining principles, G-code programming, and in-process inspection techniques.
- Experience machining cast iron and steel preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve process and quality issues.

- The pay range for this position is competative and will depend on experience
