BluePearl Pet Hospital in Rockville, MD is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology team!
Play a vital role in diagnosing and treating cancer using advanced tools like radiography, ultrasound, biopsies, and cytology while assisting with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery.
Schedule: 4x10 hour week day shifts
Pay: $24.50 - $49.20 / hour
This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

As An Oncology Technician, You Will
- Perform physical exams, assess vital signs, and recognize abnormal lab values.
- Conduct phlebotomy and place IV catheters for chemotherapy administration.
- Safely prepare, dispense, and administer oral, SC, and IM chemotherapy agents.
- Verify chemotherapy calculations, dosages, and proper IV catheter setup.
- Recognize and respond to chemotherapy extravasation.
- Admit and discharge patients, obtaining history and educating clients on treatment, side effects, and home care.
- Communicate effectively with clients and veterinary teams, addressing concerns and facilitating calls.
- Understand tumor types, diagnostic protocols, and oncology-specific terminology.
- Assist with anesthesia monitoring for ASA I & II patients.
- Stay current on R.E.C.O.V.E.R. CPR guidelines and hospital protocols.
- Perform other relevant role responsibilities.
