Role Description The Certified Dental Assistant role at BLUEGRASS ORAL HEALTH CENTER is a full-time, on-site position based in Bowling Green, KY. The dental assistant will support dentists during clinical procedures, prepare and organize treatment rooms, and ensure all instruments and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained. Daily responsibilities include assisting with sedation and implant procedures, taking and processing dental radiographs as allowed by certification, and providing chairside support to help patients feel comfortable and informed. The role also involves maintaining accurate patient records, reviewing medical histories, and reinforcing oral care instructions and post-treatment guidelines. The dental assistant collaborates closely with the clinical and front office teams to ensure efficient patient flow and a positive experience for every visitor.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Dental Assisting and Dentistry for supporting clinical procedures and chairside care.
- Strong foundation in Dental Care and Oral Care, including patient education and routine preventive practices.
- Knowledge of Sterilization protocols, infection control standards, and safe handling of instruments and materials.
- Experience in sedation dentistry and implant procedures is preferred, or willingness to train in these areas.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered and professional approach.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, manage multiple tasks, and follow detailed clinical instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting program is strongly preferred.
