Job Description

In support of our mission to continuously improve the health and independence of the individuals we serve, the Supported Education and Employment Specialist (SEES) provides evidence-based Supported Education and Supported Employment services under the supervision of the Clinical Program Manager.

The SEES is an integral member of the ClearPath Early Onset Psychosis, a Coordinated Specialty Care (CSC) team, providing recovery-oriented services to adolescents and young adults experiencing a first episode of psychosis. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary treatment team, the SEES assists individuals in identifying, obtaining, and maintaining competitive employment and achieving their educational goals through person-centered planning, skill development, advocacy, and coordination with employers, educational institutions, vocational resources, and community partners.

Using evidence-based CSC principles and Supported Education and Employment practices, the SEES partners with individuals and their natural supports to identify strengths, reduce barriers to employment and education, promote community integration, and support recovery, independence, and overall quality of life. Services are individualized, culturally responsive, and designed to empower individuals in achieving meaningful educational and vocational outcomes while supporting long-term recovery.

The SEES conducts ongoing psychosocial, educational, and vocational assessments; develops and implements Person-Centered Recovery Plans; provides rehabilitative skills training; coordinates services with internal and external providers; facilitates referrals to community resources; and participates in crisis intervention and safety planning, as appropriate. All services are delivered in close collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team and are documented accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).

This position requires exceptional organizational, communication, advocacy, relationship-building, and service coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining compliance with agency, contractual, and state requirements. A minimum of 40% of working hours must be dedicated to direct service delivery. Because services are individualized and recovery-focused, work schedules may include evening hours, as needed, to accommodate the needs and availability of individuals and their families.

Successful SEES are passionate about supporting individuals experiencing early psychosis in achieving their educational, employment, and recovery goals. They demonstrate knowledge of serious mental illness, early psychosis, psychotropic medications, substance use disorders, motivational interviewing, recovery-oriented care, community resources, and evidence-based behavioral health practices. They are patient, innovative, resilient, and collaborative professionals who excel in advocacy, service coordination, relationship-building, clinical documentation, and multidisciplinary teamwork. The SEES exercises sound judgment, effectively prioritizes needs during crisis situations, and actively participates in supervision, training, program fidelity activities, and continuous quality improvement initiatives while maintaining a positive, professional, and recovery-oriented approach. The SEES performs other duties as assigned to support program operations and the mission of the organization.
