The Early Intervention Specialist (EIS) serves as a key member of the intake and eligibility team for the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) program. This role is responsible for guiding families through the initial stages of services, including intake, developmental evaluation, eligibility determination, and development of the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP).

Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, the EIS partners closely with families to gather information, assess developmental needs, and establish individualized outcomes and service recommendations. The EIS ensures that all required documentation, consents, and enrollment processes are completed accurately and in compliance with state and federal guidelines. Once eligibility and planning are complete, the EIS facilitates a smooth transition to the ongoing treatment team for service delivery.

Services are delivered through a hybrid model, including in-home, office-based, community, and virtual settings, based on family needs and program requirements.

This position requires strong assessment skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build trust with families during a critical entry point into services.

Location: Williamson County

Differential Detail

  • $0.75/hour bilingual
  • $1.00/hour - LCSW-A, LPC-A
  • Up to $4.00/hour tenure with BTCS

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Education, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Family Studies, Child Development or other related major which includes a minimum of 9 hours semester course credit relevant to child development and/or early childhood intervention including 3 hours of semester course credit in early childhood development or early childhood special education.

Must have valid Texas drivers license and maintain approved driving record throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish.

Comprehensive knowledge of typical and atypical development in children birth to three years old.

Comprehensive knowledge of childhood conditions relates to the provision of early intervention services.

Comprehensive knowledge of and understanding of team and family dynamics.

Ability to contribute as a leader and facilitator on teams which include parents, caregivers, and other professional staff.

Ability to perform under minimal supervision with considerable requirements for initiative, discretion, independent thought, judgment, and self-motivation in matters of significance to families as well as the agency.

Well-developed interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, time management/organization skills, and basic computer skills.

Ability to comprehend and adhere to family-centered, activity-based early intervention practices.

Ability to work sensitively with families from a variety of cultural orientations.
