Join a kitchen where craft, teamwork, and steady growth matter.
For nearly two decades, Bluebird Hospitality has created memorable dining experiences in Vermont. Since opening in 2012, Bluebird Barbecue has become a local favorite built on warm hospitality, craft barbecue, and the spirit of a neighborhood spot that welcomes folks from near and far.
The Bluebird Kitchen
We celebrate the craft and traditions of barbecue, mixed with inspiration from our northeast roots and whatever playful, flavorful ideas we’re excited about next. We’re a true from-scratch kitchen, fired up by slow smoke, bold flavors, and the joy of cooking. It’s a kitchen where creativity and standards work side by side, and where pride in the details matters.
The Role
This is a key hands-on kitchen position for an experienced cook who helps drive consistency, readiness, and strong performance throughout the shift.
The Lead Line Cook works across stations to support flow, readiness, and execution throughout the shift. You may be cooking on the line one moment, helping another station get caught up the next, contributing to production or smokehouse readiness the next, checking product levels, handling final details, or helping keep the team organized and moving.
This role is ideal for a strong, experienced cook who enjoys variety, sees what needs attention, and takes pride in helping the whole kitchen succeed.
Previous professional cooking experience is essential for this role. Weekend availability is required. This position begins in the early afternoon and carries through dinner service and close. We’re looking for someone who can move with pace through busy shifts, work with consistency and attention to detail, follow recipes and food safety standards, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs.
