Position Summary
We are seeking a Packaging Engineer to support an SAP implementation project and broader packaging initiatives at the Norwood facility. This role will focus on packaging material master data management, documentation accuracy, packaging specifications, and operational support for the Global Packaging Materials Team. Candidates with packaging engineering experience are strongly preferred over SAP-only backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Engineering, Packaging Science, or related field
- 1 years of packaging engineering or packaging science experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SAP
- Basic math and computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications
- Dangerous goods packaging knowledge or training
- GMP, ISO, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry experience
- Familiarity with data management systems and information technology
- Willingness to learn change control and sustainable packaging practices
Key Responsibilities
- Support SAP project activities through data import, validation, and packaging master data management
- Maintain packaging specifications and ensure documentation compliance across systems
- Provide operational support to the Global Packaging Materials Team
- Assist with packaging-related projects, reporting, and data analysis
- Support packaging compliance and documentation initiatives
Packaging & Chemical Handling Duties
- Manually and semi-automatically portion chemicals into containers using approved safety equipment and procedures
- Weigh hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals using precision equipment
- Verify process orders, lot numbers, and electronic balance calibration
- Operate powered pallet movers and drum movers
- Label, seal, overpack, and bag chemical containers
- Set up, operate, troubleshoot, clean, and maintain semi-automated dispensing and labeling equipment
- Complete production logs, tray tags, process orders, PKRV scans, and cleaning logs using Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
- Pull samples for customers and quality control as required
- Assemble and maintain PPE and respiratory protection equipment
- Maintain safe, clean workstations and equipment following 5S standards
- Participate in continuous improvement and proactive safety initiatives
- Report safety or quality concerns immediately
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to use small and large tools with good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to wear PPE including respirators, gloves, safety equipment, and protective gear
- Ability to safely move materials weighing up to 50 lbs

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
