Position Overview

Blue Streak Couriers is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Delivery Driver to operate a 26’ box truck as part of our large package delivery operation. This role serves as a utility / route coverage driver, supporting multiple routes and assisting operations where needed.

Unlike a dedicated route position, daily assignments may vary. You may be covering different routes, handling large package deliveries, performing white-glove service, or assisting in the warehouse when needed.

This role requires a high level of responsibility, adaptability, and attention to detail. Drivers must be comfortable operating a larger vehicle, delivering in a variety of environments, and providing different levels of service based on customer needs.

This role requires consistent availability Monday through Friday starting at 7:00 AM until the assigned work for the day is completed.

You will play a key role in keeping operations running by covering routes, supporting drivers, and handling deliveries that range from simple curbside drop-offs to full white-glove service.

What You’ll Do

Operate and Deliver Safely

• Drive a 26’ box truck to complete assigned delivery routes
• Follow all traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Apply defensive driving principles, including the Smith System and the 5 Seeing Habits (Space and Visibility)
  
  

Handle Large Package and White-Glove Deliveries

• Safely load, secure, and unload large or heavy items
• Perform deliveries ranging from curbside drop-off to full white-glove service
• Complete in-home deliveries, light assembly, and debris removal when required
• Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and without damage
  
  

Cover Routes and Support Operations

• Step in to cover different routes as needed
• Learn multiple routes, customers, and delivery requirements
• Adapt quickly to changing assignments and priorities
  
  

Assist in Warehouse Operations (as needed)

• Support warehouse team with loading, sorting, and staging freight
• Help maintain organization and workflow when delivery volume is lighter
  
  

Maintain Accountability and Communication

• Keep accurate delivery records and documentation
• Communicate delays, issues, or concerns promptly
• Work closely with dispatch and operations teams

Physical Capability

• Ability to lift and move packages up to 70 lbs regularly
• Comfortable handling larger or heavier deliveries
• Capable of performing light assembly and physical delivery tasks
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with clean motor vehicle record
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Reliable transportation to report to work daily
  
  

DOT Requirement

• Must have a valid DOT Medical Card, or the ability to obtain one prior to starting
• Blue Streak will cover the cost of obtaining the DOT Medical Card; however, passing the DOT physical is a condition of employment
  
  

Bonus (Not Required)

• Experience operating a 26’ box truck or similar vehicle
• White-glove delivery experience (in-home delivery, assembly, debris removal)
• Warehouse or logistics experience
