Blue Sky Innovative Solutions is looking for 2 temporary IT/Telecom Specialist II to support our County Government customers. This position reports directly to the IT/Telecom Support Supervisor and will provide support in configuring and deploying desktops/laptops/mobile devices, mobile systems support, end user support, and Microsoft application support.

LOCATION
- Hyattsville, MD - 90% of work will be done in the office, with up to 10% at two satellite locations within 30 minutes of corporate headquarters.
- $29.00 - 31.00 per hour
- Provide end-user support in various functional areas, including desktop support, telecommunications, mobile devices, file server access, peripherals, and software assistance.
- Respond promptly to Help Desk tickets, deliver comprehensive service to customers, and document all the work completed.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, printers, PCs, and LAN connections.
- Install software patches, fixes, and updates; scan for viruses and malware to detect and clean infections.
- Install, configure, and test hardware/software and peripheral equipment.
- Conduct system analysis to determine end-user needs for new software or hardware.
- Develop plans for configuring, testing, and installing systems, research hardware and software capabilities, compatibility, and other characteristics.
- Participate in performing network administration tasks; under direction, add, delete, modify objects in Active Directory.
- Assist in monitoring the status of the file servers, perform preventive maintenance.
- Perform troubleshooting and remedies as instructed by the WAN administrator. Receive alarms from the network monitoring system and take appropriate actions to correct them.
- Create project plans for migration and implementation of new systems
- Associate's degree in computer science, Information Management Systems, or any related field.
- One to Two (1-2) years of experience in information technology support functions.
- Frequent travel to sites (valid driver's license required).
- Weekend coverage rotation, as needed.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together when total five (5) years.
- Depending upon area of assignment, a valid driver's license in accordance with both State and Commission rules and regulations. Driver's license must be unencumbered by restrictions, revocations, suspensions, or points that could limit the employee's ability to drive Commission vehicles or perform driving duties required by the position of assignment.
- Pass Commission medical examination.
- A stringent background check is required, including a drug test and polygraph exam using selected questions from the questionnaire. Candidates will need to complete a detailed questionnaire. Please be aware that the background check process can take up to two months.

- Associate's degree in computer science, Information Management Systems, or any related field.
- Must have the use of sensory skills to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public using the telephone and personal contact as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle or feel objects and controls and may carry equipment and supplies up to 49 pounds. Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to a, personal computer, calculator, copier, and fax machine. No significant climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and repetitive motions.
