Occupational Therapist
Join a dynamic educational team as an Occupational Therapist, where your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families. In this vital role, you will assess and enhance the functional abilities of students in a caring, non-public school dedicated to serving students on the autism spectrum.
- Location: Joppatowne, MD
- Annual Salary: $70-$95,000
- Will consider COTA with annual salary mid $60s
- Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
- School Calendar: 12-months
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students (Grades 4-9) to identify strengths, challenges, and therapy needs.
- Develop and implement tailored occupational therapy treatment plans aimed at improving fine motor skills, sensory integration, self-care abilities, and overall functional independence.
- Support students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other disabilities to develop communication skills, social participation, and adaptive behaviors.
- Serve as a member of the classroom team providing direct supervision of students during school hours.
- Facilitate the development of all treatment goals, objectives, interventions, and approaches as they relate to the IEP.
- Responsible for providing documentation of billable sessions for Medical Assistance by the 1st of each month.
- Case management of student’s outside-agency providers, as applicable.
- Review client files on a quarterly basis to assess service plan implementation, progress towards desired outcomes, and future appropriateness of service plan.
Requirements
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and at least one (1) year experience working with children or adolescents. Must have license as an occupational therapist by the State Department of Health and Mental Hygiene at time of appointment and continuously throughout tenure in position.
