Job Description
Location: Cape and Jackson
Reports to: Director of Behavioral Services for Blue Sky Center for Autism
Immediate supervisor: BCBA assigned to student/child/adult on caseload
Contract Days: Full time; year round in our adult day programs (may include additional services in different locations at Blue Sky Community Services in Cape Girardeau and Jackson or Autism Center in Jackson) and full time and part time at our Autism Center in Jackson.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active RBT Certification through the BACB
- Supervision under BCBA at Blue Sky Center for Autism through the BACB
- Complete all training as directed by Blue Sky Center for Autism
- CPI and CPR trained and certified current
- Follow the RBT Ethics Code (BACB)
Purpose and Competencies of the Position:
A Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who works under the supervision of a BCBA or BCaBA. At this ABA job level, the RBT is primarily responsible for direct implementation of treatment plans related to skill acquisition and behavior reduction. RBTs also collect data and provide support when needed across the school setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The RBT will implement treatment plans working under the direction of the BCBA throughout the school setting with students, and teachers. The following are essential skills necessary as a RBT:
- 1. Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 2. Strong time management skills
- 3. Multi-tasking ability
- 4. Ability to maintain confidentiality
- 5. Ability to develop strong relationships with supervisors, clients/students, staff, and families
- 6. Ensure supervision with BCBA is obtained a minimum of 5% of the hours spent providing applied behavior-analytic services per month.

· Establishing rapport and work in a constructive, positive manner with supervisor, staff and students
· Communicating effectively, in oral and written form
- Providing direct client care in one-on-one and group settings
- Following the behavior reduction and behavioral skill acquisition protocols
- Collecting and recording data based on client/student behavior
- Communicating with BCBA and caregivers regarding student progress
- Assisting BCBA with behavior reduction and skills acquisition assessments
- Assisting BCBA in the preparation of client materials
Additional Job Functions
- Perform other duties as assigned, and could include working at any Blue Sky facility as needed
- Complete a 40-hour training program (conducted by a BACB certificant) based on the RBT Task List
- Pass the RBT Competency Assessment administered by a BACB certificant

· Starting pay is $19 per hour for untrained applicant, with increase to $21 after one year. Starting pay for a Nationally Certified RBT with one year experience is $21 per hour. Beginning the 3rd year pay increases to $22 per hour.
